Work release....blah

It all started with the flower at the top....I was browsing at Hobby Lobby and came upon the flower and thought, 'I think I can build something around this'...so, here is the finished product...I added straps on this lil' purse vs. trying to crochet the previous versions I had...I'm going to miss being at home because I've had a lot of free time the past 5 days to enjoy things I love...my kids, my crocheting and just plain spending too much time on ETSY, getting all kinds of cool ideas and dreaming of new patterns : )

Blessings.....

Bet you couldn't tell I'm into Power Rangers, huh?
Kate looooves her baby dolls...
They do like each other on most occassions!
Makes a momma's heart melt : )

Forced to chill, so why not create?!?!

Just some funky colors I'm working with on my washcloths...I didn't take a picture of it, but after I got done crocheting the multi-colored pink camo, the black part crocheted into a perfect "X"...I just thought it was cool because I wouldn't have known before I crocheted, it just happened to appear in the final product...

Still working on getting down the handles of these lil bags, but I don't think the things we create would truly be homemade if they were completely perfect....don't get me wrong, I am bugged that I can't get this down, but I'm not going to give up..besides, what little girl would let that get in the way as she plays dress up or goes about town carrying one of these lil' bags?!?! I would love to start creating things for others to enjoy, so as you browse, let me know if there is something that catches your eye : )

It's a HOOT!

This is the ETSY pattern I had been getting all giddy over....it was so fun to make and I could hardly wait to post pics tonight...so much so, the glue is still wet on the owl's eyes and her "bling" in her flower : ) You can purchase this patter at AngelsChest.Etsy.com It took me about 4 tries to get down the first pink row, but I would just un-do the yarn and start over...and over...and over again!

Another one down...this is fun!

Ran out of the tie-dye color, so did the front panel and handle in green...I think it still looks ok. Had a special request for a purse, so this one MIGHT be it...not sure...gonna keep testing out how to put the handles on and I want a bulky flower, this one seems too flat. The flower is pinned on by the brad flower in the middle for now...until I decide if I want it there permanently!

Girlie-Girl on the Go

Soooo....was up late making some more washcloths and this is what came about....Kate loves her new purse and was ready to go, shoes on backward and everything! I'm so excited, I just purchased a new purse/wallet pattern on ETSY and it can't get into my "in box" soon enough...I keep going back to check and it's not there yet, so I'll just get back to making some more things.

More scrub-a-dub-dub!

I made plenty of circle scrubbies but then found this new stitch I wanted to try and I came out with squares. They dry easily and wash even easier, made out of 100% cotton and feel so much better on the skin then regular o' wash cloth : )
Gosh, she's sooooo beautiful...lol
Aidan feeling like he has to pose with my newest creation!
I think Kate likes her new shirt, don't you?? Hahaha....so, I was trying to figure out how to crochet a Solomon's Knot and this is what I came up with...it's NOWHERE near what the pattern called for, but I kind of like it, what you think? I played with it for a while and then decided it needed some accessories too, so I added an already made flower from my pile of leftovers and just weaved in a pale pink ribbon. The shirt ties up in the back and you make a bow the close up the neck too.

Ummmmm....I've been a little crazy with the cotton yarn lately and I love it. I've even started using my very own scrubbies (the circle thingies above) on my own face and my kids love them in the tub too...think the bright colors help also. I snagged a sale at Hobby Lobby earlier in the week on some "I Love This Yarn Cotton" and it's super soft, so I'm thinking it would be good for baby scrubbies : ) Lemme know what you guys think : ) Also bought every last headband they had and am hoping for their shipment to come in Monday because they didn't have any cocoa color left and I love that one!

I'm guessing I might need to change my blog name?!!? I still crochet when I have time, but I just started playing around with some fabric too and love what it can do. I have been in hiding for awhile, so not much time for blogging, crafting, etc...I'm still working full-time and started back to school last summer, hopefully, for nursing this time : )

Here's some flowers I have been playing around with...I found several videos on YouTube for tutorials and I don't think a single flower has turned out the same, but I kind of like all of them not being the same. The fabrics I used were poly satin, along with organza to double layer the flower that is glued to the headband. I also glued on a flower to a pin, so you can dress up a old sweater or shirt or something?!?
